At Lubavitch Hebrew Day School the students are always learning – in and out of class. The amazing teachers of Cheder create many opportunities for fun and excitement that are also opportunities for learning and growth. Here are just a few examples of some of the amazing programs from this year.
Inyonei Geula U’Moshiach: The school breaks into teams. Competition is fierce! There are plays, posters, and contests. Is it color war? No! It is I.G.M., where the students of Cheder Lubavitch strive to increase their knowledge and understanding of the laws of geulah and Moshiach, as elucidated by the Rambam. The winning team at each school enjoys a special treat or party, and the satisfaction of knowing they have learned the laws well.
Talmudo B’Yado: At the end of each regular school year, a special program encourages the boys to review their learning. For several weeks, the boys are tested on Gemara and Mishnayos they have learned over the course of the year. Everything the boys learn and get tested on is counted toward a point system through which the boys earn “money” to buy seforim (Hebrew books) from Kehos Jewish Bookstore. Hundreds of dollars’ worth of seforim have been given out in past years.
