This May marked the launch of the Arie Crown Academic Challenge, a Scholastic-Bowl style competition for our 8th graders. Boys and girls competed in teams of four in separate round-robin tournaments, answering questions in language arts, science, social studies and math. Questions were written by the 8th grade teachers and represented topics covered over the course of the year, from algebraic equations and grammar to chemistry and the Constitution. The quiz ran from May 26-29, with parents invited for the final rounds on Friday. Winners will be announced the morning of graduation, June 9, with winners receiving gift cards and runners up receiving certificates for Ken’s Diner.
